Apple has released the third beta version of iOS 10.1 for users participating in beta testing programs.
iOS 10.1 Beta 3 can now be downloaded using the software update mechanism of the Settings app.
Developer beta program users can get the download now, while public beta program users typically have to wait a little longer to find the same beta version available to them.
iOS 10.1 offers the ability to use the portrait camera mode on the iPhone 7 Plus, an alternative camera feature for capturing portraits with a blurred background effect of bokeh, which Apple prominently demonstrated at the first iPhone 7 event. For the most part, iOS 10.1 appears to be a bug fix version designed to improve the stability of the iOS 10 version, with a few other minor tweaks and feature improvements.
There is no known schedule for the final version of iOS 10.1, but typically Apple goes through several beta releases before a release is finalized.
A third beta of tvOS 10.0.1 for Apple TV is also available to developers.
