Apple has released iOS 12 Beta 3 for users participating in the iOS beta testing program.
The first version of iOS 12 Beta 3 is available for any iPhone or iPad registered in the developer beta testing program. The public beta followed shortly thereafter, which was versioned as public beta 2.
Users who are actively participating in the beta program for iOS 12 can now make the latest update available for download using the software update mechanism in the Settings app.
The developer version of iOS 12 Beta 3 is now available for download, while the public beta is usually available a little later and often with a version number after it. The corresponding public beta is iOS 12 Public Beta 2, which is now available for download:
Anyone can sign up and install the iOS 12 Public Beta (or run the iOS 12 Beta Developer) on any device that supports iOS 12. However, because the beta software is less stable than a final release, it is generally not recommended for beginners for primary devices.
On the other hand, Apple has also released macOS Mojave Beta 3, along with new beta developers for tvOS and watchOS.
It’s also important to keep in mind that iOS 12 and macOS Mojave 10.14 Beta are completely separate from the additional beta of iOS 11.4.1 and macOS High Sierra 10.13.6.
iOS 12 is ready to bring a host of new features to the iPhone and iPad, including FaceTime group chat, the new Animoji, and the ability to create your own Animoji avatar for iPhone X users. This feature allows you to keep track of how often you use your iPhone or iPad, some changes to the various built-in apps, a new measurement app, and a host of other small features and improvements, as well as performance improvements.
The final version of iOS 12 has a release date set for this fall.
