Instagram’s recent launch, designed for time-lapse video recording, has garnered a lot of praise for its design and user interface functionality, but there’s no denying that features are a bit scarce – or so we thought, at least. Apparently the app has a hidden menu with different options including 1080P video recording and more.
The following video is in German, but it’s not difficult to understand. You can access the Hyperlapse’s hidden Labs menu by tapping the screen four times with four fingers. I was able to confirm that this works on my iPhone 6 Plus, although like the user of the clip it took me a few tries before the menu finally came up.
Settings include options to change the resolution and frame rate, and to enable a background storage mode. You can also calibrate your camera, adjust the sound level, reset the NUX indicator (not sure what it is) and activate a mode called Hyperlapse EXTREME. I’m not sure what it does, but the name sounds great.
